MILLBROOK PROVING GROUND
Extend your driving limits and explore the true potential of your sports car by mastering high performance skills away from public roads, on track at Millbrook Proving Ground.
MILLBROOK'S KEY FACILITIES
This private, 700-acre site is generally closed to the public. Used by many leading sports car makers, it features some of the most interesting, dynamically challenging, and ultimately rewarding driving roads to be found.

Other than when manufacturers or exhibition organisers hire Millbrook on an exclusive basis, the venue is available to us at any time, 24/7, year-round (excluding Bank Holidays).
The great variety of track facilities, and their dynamic and challenging nature, makes Millbrook by far and away the best all-round venue in the UK for high performance driver coaching.
Hill Routes Loops1,2 & 3 ‘The Alpine Section’
2.3 miles of challenging roads, you could be in the Swiss Alps. Referred to as hill loops 1,2 & 3, but for us oldies we refer to it as the Alpine section, it was once used as a stage on the RAC rally an event I was lucky enough to compete on. The Alpine section gives you a blend of flowing and fast corners, that when mastered will be so intoxicating, blind Crests, hairpins, and the notorious ski jump.

We will concentrate on forward vision, road craft and being hyper smooth. Planning, balance of the steering, throttle and brakes all combined to make for a rewarding yet challenging drive. All in a safe and controlled environment.
Outer Handling Circuit
With nearly a mile of rapid change of direction combined with a grip level that is different on each twist and turn, makes this facility ideal to coach real world forward vision. Reading the changing road and anticipating the result.
We will concentrate on single input fluid steering, the bases of forward vision, anticipating grip levels, trail braking to help turn in and the use of weight transfer. Once mastered we can then proceed to grip level and beyond.

MILE STRAIGHT
This is always the first part of our course, I want to make sure we can stop in a fast-controlled manner. Emergency braking, hazard avoidance and the art of threshold braking. ABS braking is an especially useful tool, but it is a misconception that it shortens your stopping distance.

Correct braking to threshold is more effective, we will explore and master this especially important art, give you more pedal and brake response. The bases to any fast driving are being able to stop just as fast.
Steering / Dynamics Pad
Used for steady state steering, suspension, and weight transfer tests, with several different surfaces the grip level can vary across the pad, this can also change when the pad is watered. This area is ideal perfect your understanding of over and under steer.
How to correct it and master it safely. We will explore how we can induce these techniques, a skill that is useful around those tight Alpine hairpin bends.

Weight transfer, a rapid change in direction that again can be used to your benefit when mastered. perhaps you just want to master the art of the power slide or drift, this is the safe controlled area to do so.
High Speed Bowl
A 5 lane, 2 mile, banked high speed oval, a bit like a Nasar track. The bowl is all about high speed vision, things can arrive extremely fast at 150 mph. We must train our brain and eyes at this speed.
As a racing driver our brain slows things down, we may be going at 130mph, but it feels more like 60mph, but our reactions work at lightning speed to compensate. vision, mindset, relaxed and safe. The key points to highspeed driving.

We work of forward vision and scanning back, understanding the speed, building up in stages, and making sure we are always comfortable. High speed lane avoidance will be practiced, a rapid change of direction all controlled and safe.

Our Testimonial
Thought I could read the road and used the correct line, after a day with Andrew I soon realised how wrong I was, I now read so far ahead and plan, my driving is so much more fluid and rewarding.
- Ashley McAndrew Buckingham

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Andrew, if you care about driving and want to be a better driver requiring close attention and capable of unlimited improvement. I have no hesitation in recommending Veloce Corsa and investing in one of Andrew's courses.
